New Hobbies

I almost feel like a regular ole Suzy Homemaker! I have been wanting a sewing machine for a while now, and Jake bought me one for Christmas. So here is the finished product of my first sewing project, an apron. I still need a lot more practice! =0)

Another thing I have ALWAYS wanted to do was learn to crochet. I made these scarfs and was pretty surprised with myself. They are not the best but I am satisfied with them.

Now I am on a hunt for another easy sewing project. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks guys!
Stacy...actually it is an apron. Kinda looks like a purse from the picture, lol. I should have taken a picture of me wearing it.

Since you said you want more projects... here's how to make coasters at http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/11/crisscross_coas.html
and this one might be a bit more complicated, but I bet you can handle it:

and here's how to make pillowcases:

Have fun with your new sewing machine!

You sound just like me. Last year when I got my sewing machine back from my daughter I sewed an apron first..and then more..and gave them to all the female family members for Christmas! Then I started sewing cushions and haven't stopped. I also crocheted an afghan for my dad for his birthday last year after wanting to learn to crochet. It's cold enough now to bring out the hook again! All the best with your sewing and crocheting!!
